In 2017 seven colleagues from Group Digital Railway did the Ride 100 cycle sportif for Samaritans.
It was the Prudential Ride 100 London which was 100 miles from central London out to Surrey and back with a few nice hills in the middle and finishing on the mall. It took place on Sunday July 30 2017 and they raised almost £3000.
Paul Jeffery, explained, “I wanted to ride the race and when considering a sponsored seat, I chose Samaritans as they do key work supporting individuals and families and have an unfortunate link to the railways. “
“My team at the time we’re producing monthly maps to visualises suicide hotspots and trends to support the Rail industry Suicide Prevention Programme so the opportunity to raise money to assist Samaritans was an easy choice. I then got a team together and away we went”
