Brew Monday

Samaritans Milton Keynes

‘Brew Monday’ takes place on ‘Blue Monday’ – the third Monday of January, discussed in the media as the most difficult day of the year. Whilst there is a little science behind Blue Monday, the start of a new year is a difficult and lonely time for many.

Samaritans aim to make this time of year more manageable for people by encouraging the public to get together for a chat and a cuppa with family, friends and colleagues to help anyone who may be struggling, and to raise vital funds for the charity. Loneliness and isolation is one of the top three reasons why people get in touch with Samaritans.

On Monday 21 January Brew Monday events were held at 159 stations across the country supported by volunteers from 110 Samaritans Branches and volunteers from train operators, British Transport Police and Network Rail.

Did you know that for every one life lost on the railways, six are saved by those around them.*
